The “Basel Audio Tours” app transforms a walk through Basel’s Old Town into an immersive audio experience.

Across five distinct tours (lasting 60 to 120 minutes each), users discover the city through the eyes of famous Basel personalities: Erasmus of Rotterdam, Paracelsus, Jean Tinguely, Irène Zurkinden, and Hans Holbein.

Each guide offers a unique perspective, bringing historical sites to life and commenting on the surroundings with entertaining anecdotes. Navigation is intuitive thanks to a modern interface featuring an interactive 3D map, making exploring the districts a delight.

The Erasmus tour features a technical highlight: Using Augmented Reality and innovative VPS (Visual Positioning System) technology, historical images are overlaid precisely onto the real Basel of today.
